This is a ground drawing of Magnificent Mile in the Michigan Avenue of Chicago. Michigan Avenue this name came from Lake Michigan, which until 1871 was immediately east of Michigan Avenue. The street at that time ran north to the Chicago River and south to the city limits. Originally, Michigan Avenue was primarily residential, and by the 1860s, large homes and expensive row houses dominated Michigan Avenue. Daniel Burnham(September 4, 1846 – June 1, 1912), lead architect of the Plan of Chicago.The circle covers an office building.





This aerial view shows the main area of Michigan Avenue and Chicago river. The highlighted building is one of the most famous buildings in Chicago named The Wrigley Building. The Wrigley Building is a skyscraper located on the Magnificent Mile directly across Michigan Avenue from the Tribune Tower. It was built to house the corporate headquarters of the Wrigley Company. The plaza around The Wrigley Building and the Chicago River Walk gather a lot of people. 




This drawing shows key characteristics of the plaza area around The Wrigley Building, including hard landscaping (road, pedestrian walkway) and soft landscaping (green space, gardens) creating a typical streetscape.Vehicles circulate through different roads. Michigan Avenue is a two-way road with a circle like a roundabout.Street walls are shown aligning across building façades of the plaza that gather a lot of people. A lot of equidistant street lights have been built on the main road.

With partner Edward H. Bennett, they came up with the “Plan of Chicago” as the general plan for the city of Chicago which was originally founded in 1832. The Great Chicago Fire was a conflagration that burned in the American city of Chicago during October 8–10, 1871. After the fire, a large part of Chicago’s buildings were rebuilt and slowly turned into a new city.
