YI XIA
The building develops from a basic line study. The line study consists of two basic geomentry which is circle and triangle. Two shapes have their own function guding the space, they intersect with each other and form new space, which is the basic room in my builidng.
The program theme is girls who need to rent house temporarily. As a temporary house, the building is designed with 3 basic bedrooms, one sharing livingroom, one public kitchen and one communal library. To stay connected, the second floor is also connected with the TEA house which is a commual center.
The room designed for girls need both privacy and connections. Combined with the element - windows, walls, the vision comes up with an important consideration. The shape of the window is developed from the basic elementary, the change of the height of the window makes them have different functions, some become doors and some remain window for view.
Also, the circle and the walls play important roles in guiding the directions. The spiral stairs, round table and circle garden all lead people from one public space into a private space. The function of wall is mainly divide the space into two parts, to create own room for girls.
