AXEL OLSON + SOPHIE PACELKO

Suburban domestic life involves the construction of identity through facades, roof profiles, landscaping, and yard signs. These elements project an image outward for neighbors to see - the yard and its signs are an intermediary between the individual and society. Our film digitally recreates a suburban domestic image that is then projected onto an architecture of signs. The construction of the image is intentionally belabored and blurred, the tools and content of editing get caught in a self-referential loop of production, maintenance, and identity posted on lawns and online.
