MARGARET HILLENGAS
This project is designed for those with impacted mobility and prioritizes accessibility and connections. The project plays off the aesthetic of the gabled suburban house, but re-orients that form -- skewing the major horizontal axis.
Lateral and vertical circulation open up the space, and integrate the project with its neighbors on the left and right.
A set of three parallel corridors , two interior and one exterior comprise the main structure.

First Floor Plan
A ramp, spanning across three lots provides access to the main entrance which is shared between this site and its western neighbor. Diagonal rows of low growing plants line the walkway.
Two circular elevators provide vertical circulation for the three lots, and make the building a hub for foot traffic.
The four bedrooms, two on each hall, open onto the courtyard.
They create small alcoves where people can sit and talk.
