The Lions & Rabbits Center for the Art is a single story open floor plan building set in Grand Rapids, Michigan off a busy highway. Currently used as an open gallery space and for events for the community. Its historic facade is mixed with a East facde entirely surfaced with a colorful mural. The floor plan aligns with the street angels making a unique interior space.

Gathering information about the existing building it has unqiue qualities and materials that surface the exterior facades on all elevations which is complemented with a rather less complex interior. No dropped ceiling is attached, ducts, lighting, and grided braquettes also align the interior roof line. A few interior spaces are hosted at the back for storage and utilities. Overall the building sits at 3,500 sq ft.

This kit of parts shows the amount of unqiue exterior features and highly ornate front facade of this jagged rectangle. Materials such as marbled stone, gold boarders, herringbone bricks, and detailed tile patterns. An iron gate keeps the only back window securred. Interior elements are gathered to show beams, ducts, and grids. The item shown in the knolling with the most mass is the colorful shed which sits on the rear elevation.

The ANT Maps presented here consist of two item subjects: wellness goods and used goods. Each category is described in research about the types of goods, how they effects us humans emotionally, and the organization of how we browse these goods.

The diagram displayed goes into depth about the initial design process of how I worked through this gridded system of ceiling details and turned this space to accommodate for how items could be knolled and be formed in a dense plan. The idea was gathered to knoll items on two different planes: vertical and horizontal. Each to display items in a neatly sprawled format.

This virtual walk-through of the updated floor plan shows in detail items taken and visualized in 3D. As well as the significance of the items placed into this space. The overall idea is to create a space that elevates a high end thriftstore full of heirlooms and well-known pieces. Each items keeps in mind the two overarching categories of knolling and dense.

The parallax video presented gives a full on action view of the density of used stuff. Each space connected to its color code between items which are textiles, and 3D larger objects.

Visualized here are the sets of knolled items presented in a dense plan. Space lays open to keep a visual walk-through and to have a sense of reality. Items are to be kept neatly looking at floor plan and by elevations on the vertical displays. When viewing the perspectives of the structure you are able to see how density is communicated throughout.
