Domestic objects such as chairs, plants, and carpets are often being utilized to create warmth and coziness in public areas such as airports and malls. Therefore, an illusion of a domestic space is created and start to overlay with public spaces. However, the fakeness that illusion can be easily exposed to eyes. Based on this idea, we break down the architectural grid to fit them in the position of free space. A condition is created that a repetitive grided public area was peeled off from the surface to reveal a domestic lawn below, and objects are being arranged in various position within these two areas. However, we naturally resort back to a world of order and organization with the “given” domestic space, which provoke the question regarding the freedom within a free space.
