Laida Aguirre is an architectural designer and director of stock-a-studio. Interested in the circulation of materials and commodities, their research focuses on the way our built environment is affected by the politics of aesthetics, logistics and media. Their work conceives of architecture as a temporary assembly of materials in service of the everyday event. Laida is currently an assistant professor of architecture at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, where they were the 2017-18 William Muschenheim Fellow. They hold a BA from Northeastern University in Political Science and a Master’s of Architecture from California State Polytechnic Pomona, where they were awarded the Richard Neutra Award for Best Graduate Thesis. Laida’s research and design work has been exhibited at Storefront for Art and Architecture, Materials & Applications, Milan Architecture Week, A+D Museum, Berlin Art Week and Oya in Oslo, and has been published in E-flux, Pin-Up Magazine, POOL and Art Papers. Currently, they have projects in Los Angeles and Berlin. ︎
Jacob Comerci is a designer and educator. He is the 2019- 2020 William Muschenheim Fellow at the University of Michigan. He received a Master of Architecture from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago. While at Princeton, he was awarded the Howard Crosby Butler traveling fellowship where he studied building groups in Berlin as well as the Suzane Kolarik Underwood thesis prize for excellence in design. He has previously worked with Bureau Spectacular in Chicago and Los Angeles and with MOS Architects and LTL Architects in New York. His research and design work reconsiders models for collective life and work by way of the interior fit-out of existing real estate with furniture-scaled domestic equipment. ︎
Adam Fure is an architectural designer and an assistant professor of architecture at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He teaches in the areas of digital fabrication, material experimentation, and design. His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Beijing Biennale, The New School in New York, the A+D Gallery in Los Angeles, the Architectural Association in London, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, and the Grand Rapids Museum of Art. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2014 Architectural League Prize and a residency fellowship at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany. His essays have been published in Log, Project Journal, and Pidgin. Fure is a principal of the Ann Arbor-based studio T+E+A+M and a co-founder of the Possible Mediums Project. From 2010 to 2015, he led the design practice SIFT Studio.Fure received his Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Michigan and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated with distinction and was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Medal. ︎
